What’s New in MicroStrategy 2020 Update 1: Part 1 - Predictive Mobile Caching and Actions

MicroStrategy 2020 Update 1 adds new modern experiences that deliver predictive caching and actionable mobility to end-users. It also enhances MicroStrategy’s unique open strategy by integrating deeper into the Microsoft technology ecosystem, and it continues to deliver strong enterprise capabilities that raise the bar for security, performance, and scale.

In part one of our three-part MicroStrategy 2020 Update 1 blog post series, I want to focus on the modern experiences for end-users, and specifically on new actionable mobile capabilities. MicroStrategy has always been a leader in mobile analytics, and it's never been more important that our customers get real-time information and take action on them, wherever they may be.

So let's take a look at three of the new actionable mobility capabilities in Update 1:

1. Predictive Mobile Caching

The new predictive algorithm proactively caches content based on frequently accessed dossiers and user activity. The content that is likely to be requested by each user is now available instantaneously both online and offline. This smart download feature is enabled in the preferences menu and made possible by a unique differentiator for MicroStrategy, our Enterprise Semantic Graph. Learn more about it here.

2. Lightning-fast QR and Barcode Scanner for HyperMobile

With MicroStrategy 2020 Update 1, analysts, business users, and developers can now use HyperIntelligence for Mobile to easily access a broad range of use cases to provide employees with insights by scanning QR codes and barcodes with their mobile device. You can imagine the possibilities for this, from asset management to easily keeping track of parts and other physical assets, inventory management, and even patient and medical supply tracking. This feature can be used anywhere QR codes or barcodes are used to connect the digital and physical parts of the organization.

Watch the video below for a fantastic example of barcode scanning in use today. This uses the new Zebra integration with MicroStrategy Mobile:

This capability goes hand-in-hand with the next one:

3. Contextual Deep Linking from MicroStrategy Mobile

I'm really excited about this powerful feature that makes it possible to link insights and actions. MicroStrategy can integrate now with contextual deep linking into third party applications. For example, if you need to move inventory or order more, you can now click on a button in the MicroStrategy mobile application that links directly to applications that pass on contextual information to initiate workflows. With the average organization using at least 25 different business applications, think about how much time that could save!

With this MicroStrategy 2020 update, we continue to optimize our platform for the enterprise and to help our customers make faster, smarter decisions based on data they can trust—whether they're at their physical workplace or working remote. In the next post, I'll share some of my favorite Update 1 enhancements around our open strategy, so stay tuned and take care.
