Top Use Cases for HyperIntelligence

HyperIntelligence introduces the concept of Zero-Click IntelligenceTM—an entirely new class of analytical applications that have the potential to radically transform the way people consume and interact with information in their day-to-day lives.

In MicroStrategy 2019, we are incredibly excited to introduce Cards—a brand-new object that uses a browser extension to instantly inject intelligence into any web content.

Cards fit seamlessly into users’ existing workflow, automatically scanning every webpage they visit and underlining relevant keywords. Users can then simply mouse over a highlighted word to pull up relevant information sourced from a variety of different enterprise applications and data sources. Each Card presents information on a different keyword attribute, so organizations can roll out Cards specific to their employees, vendors, customers, prospects, products, and more.

Every organization—even the leanest Silicon Valley startup—has at least three things in common:

  1. You need people to run an organization
  2. You rely on other entities to make your organization work
  3. Your organization has its own lexicon—the people, places, and things discussed in communications and referenced in enterprise applications

In speaking with customers who have been involved in our early adopter program over the past year, I’ve found that many use cases fall into a few broad categories: people (employees, customers, contractors, etc.), entities (accounts, prospects, partners, suppliers, etc.), and things (products, cases, claims, stores, etc.) To get a better idea of our vision for HyperIntelligence, let’s take a look at example cards in each of these categories.


Organizations can deploy Cards that provide key information on the people relevant to their business. An employee card could pull together data from enterprise sources like ADP Workforce, relational databases, and other applications to give HR professionals and project coordinators the information they need to make staffing decisions. They can also deploy a customer card that arms wealth managers, retail associates, tech support managers, and other customer-facing professionals with a 360-degree view of their customers, so they can make more informed client management decisions and provide better customer service.

An organization could deploy a Card that provides a 360-degree view of accounts to their account managers and sales development reps. The card could pull from, internal customer support systems, and tools like Marketo and SalesLoft to give an at-a-glance summary of an account’s status. With this card, whenever a salesperson sees a customer name in their email, on spreadsheets, in their CRM, in a Google search, or on a news site, MicroStrategy will instantly underline the customer name and the account manager can simply mouse over the highlighted word to get insights into the account.

Finally, organizations can deploy Cards that provide information about all the "things" that make up their business. A telecommunications provider could build a card for their call center reps that highlights the information related to a specific call. An insurance company could build a card that pulls together claim data from different systems for their adjustors and claims processors. A retailer could deploy a Card to their store managers and product analysts that provides insights on all their different SKUs.

These are just a few examples of the applications possible with Cards. At their core, these applications help eliminate friction associated with accessing information. Cards bring analytics to people who wouldn’t necessarily think of themselves as analysts and helps them find answers to the questions they run into in their day-to-day lives.

This type of zero-click experience is a major breakthrough in analytics, and I think it’s going to be the key to driving the truly pervasive adoption of intelligence throughout the enterprise. Over the past few months, I’ve had the opportunity to speak with dozens of customers about Cards and the thing that makes me most excited is how quickly the conversation moves from a product demo to a wide-ranging discussion about all the different ways they see this technology being put to use throughout their organization.
