17 of the World’s Most Famous Christmas Markets: What the Data Tells Us

With December upon us, the holiday season is in full swing. Between listening to Mariah Carey’s "All I Want For Christmas Is You" and making your holiday shopping list, there’s a lot to get you in the holiday spirit.

At MicroStrategy, we created Christmas Market Cards using HyperIntelligence™ to highlight some of the most famous Christmas markets around the world. A more than 500-year-old tradition, Christmas markets bring people together every year through open-air stalls that sell food, drinks, gifts, and more.

Whether you’re planning a holiday vacation or simply want to learn more about Christmas markets, our HyperIntelligence Cards give you a quick snapshot of 17 of the most famous Christmas markets—all in zero clicks. Take a look at our MicroStrategy Community Page for installation instructions and find a preview of a card below:

At the top of the card, you’ll find the market’s name and photo, as well as its website link. The card also provides:

  • City
  • Country
  • When the market first began. If the date of the first market is not available, this section of the card will read "unknown."
  • 2019 dates of the market. We recommend also checking the market’s website to find hours of operations and any early closures.
  • Number of stalls (if known)
  • The host city’s population

At the bottom of the card, you’ll also find a fun fact about the Christmas market. This fact represents what makes this market unique compared to other markets.
