The report authored by Boris Evelson and Martha Bennett evaluates vendors on 22 criteria across three categories including current offering, strategy, and market presence. MicroStrategy is one of 15 vendors included in the 2017 report which provides key insights on the BI landscape, and recognizes MicroStrategy’s continued ability “to address all BI use cases at scale.”

“Its core strength,” notes the report “remains a powerful, highly scalable ROLAP, which can optimize queries beyond DBMS capabilities; perform complex heterogeneous joins between multiple DBMSes; and support a drill-anywhere capability, which can reduce the number of siloed reports and dashboards. MicroStrategy also received one of the best scores in our evaluation’s ‘clicks to answer’ exercise.”

Says our CMO Mark Gambill, “It’s truly an honor to be recognized as a leader in this Forrester Wave™ as we believe it’s not only a reflection of MicroStrategy’s successful product development, but inspiration for our continued and accelerated customer-focused innovation.”

Driving Differentiation through Insights

In the research note The Insights-Driven Business, 2016, Forrester notes that organizations using more and better data to gain business insights are creating a competitive advantage for future success. Forrester predicts that these insights-driven businesses, which “harness and apply data and analytics at every opportunity to differentiate its products and customer experiences,” will take $1.2 trillion annually from their less-informed peers by 2020.

“The BI market is growing because more enterprises use information as a key competitive differentiation,” notes Forrester in the Wave™ report referenced here. “This market growth is in large part due to the fact that AD&D pros working on BI initiatives increasingly trust enterprise BI platform providers to act as strategic partners, advising them on top data-to-insights decisions.”
