Boston Children's Hospital Utilizes Data Assets to Manage Hospital Capacity

Hear from Boston Children’s Hospital as they investigate how they use their data assets to manage hospital inpatient capacity through three different use cases.

For use case one, they discuss the advantages and difficulties in near real-time data processing to build a descriptive analytics visualization to provide a whole-house snapshot of where patients are and where there may be capacity issues.

In use case two, they investigate driving adoption of predictive analytics to help understand the impact of post-operative patients on capacity by predicting LOS and body system decline.

Finally, they discuss overcoming challenges in bringing analytics into the workflow of care providers in non-web based EMRs, such as Cerner, or other tools needed to optimize care of our pediatric patients.
