Job Description

MicroStrategy (Nasdaq: MSTR) is the largest independent publicly-traded analytics and business intelligence company. We pursue two corporate strategies: (1) grow our enterprise analytics software business to promote our vision of Intelligence Everywhere and (2) acquire and hold bitcoin, which we view as a dependable store of value supported by a robust, public, open-source architecture untethered to sovereign monetary policy.

MicroStrategy is seeking a Director of Treasury and Investor Relations to join its Finance team.  Reporting directly to the SVP of Finance, this position will be directly involved with both of the company’s strategic priorities: business intelligence and bitcoin.  This position will play a key role in developing the company’s investor relations strategy and communications.  The position will have regular interactions with the SVP of Finance, CFO, CEO and external investors and banking institutions.  The position is full time and will be based out of the headquarters office in Tysons Corner, Virginia.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of seven to ten years of experience working in banking, equity research, debt or equity capital markets, corporate treasury or investor relations.  The candidate should have direct experience working with investment banks, investors and corporate finance and legal functions.  The ideal candidate should have direct experience with the technology and SaaS software industry as well as digital assets and bitcoin. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Company’s investor relations and treasury operations
  • Responsible for planning, managing and developing content for the Company’s quarterly earnings releases, including the earnings release, conference call script and investor presentation and annual analyst day
  • Maintain relationships and be a primary point of contact for the Company’s sell-side analysts as well as current and prospective shareholders
  • Tracking and reporting competitor/peer business developments and financial results, including financial statement analysis and modeling
  • Developing and managing timeline for investor conferences, non-deal roadshows and other major events
  • Develop and execute on financing opportunities to support the company’s strategy of acquiring and holding bitcoin
  • Manage the company’s treasury including the use of excess cash flow, bitcoin acquisitions, establishing relationships and accounts with exchanges and custodians
  • Facilitate annual corporate insurance renewals including managing brokers, evaluating proposals and communications with the audit committee and board of directors
  • Manage the company’s existing debt, ensure compliance with covenants and interactions with ratings agencies, debt holders, covenants

 

Job Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Communications or related field preferred, MBA preferred
  • Strong understanding of the capital markets with demonstrated ability to communicate with investors, banks and internal company stakeholders, CFA certification preferred
  • Minimum of seven years of experience working in banking, equity research, debt or equity capital markets, corporate treasury or investor relations
  • Excellent interpersonal & verbal / written communication skills
  • Experience in equity analysis and valuation, as well as ability to create financial models
  • Strong understanding of the software industry with a preference for SaaS
  • Proactive, self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Strong commitment to customer service
  • Computer skills a must (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Able to work independently and complete projects with limited supervision
  • Great team player; able to work in cross-cultural/cross-functional teams
