- More IT Personnel Necessary for Fewer Users: Cognos technology requires far more IT personnel for a given number of BI users because its report developers cannot reuse metadata created across reports and because end users need more IT support for their needs.
- Limited Dynamic Report Personalization: Cognos does not provide object or column prompts such as selection of attributes, metrics, and filters on the fly. This causes an unnecessary number of reports to be created and maintained for end users.
- IT Hand Coded Drill Anywhere: Cognos does not provide automatic drill anywhere. Drilling across hierarchies requires IT hard coding to report destination.
