Two Ways to Connect
MicroStrategy Cloud customers can connect directly to their on-premises or cloud-based data sources via MicroStrategy Cloud’s Direct Connect option. Alternatively, customers can opt to build and host their own database on the MicroStrategy Cloud through integrated database and data integration options.
You Don’t Have to Move Your Data!
With MicroStrategy’s Direct Connect technology, users can connect and analyze compatible databases wherever they’re located, without compromising performance, whether source data is located on-premises or in other cloud-based systems. This is enabled by MicroStrategy features including push-down analytics, multi-pass SQL support, intelligent caching, and in-memory cubes, which work together to reduce the frequency of remote database queries and the narrow size of result sets that need to travel across the internet from a remote data source to the MicroStrategy Cloud.
High Speed Infrastructure
Complementing MicroStrategy’s high-efficiency Direct Connect technology, primary MicroStrategy Cloud data center facilities are strategically situated on regional internet telecom backbones and employ dual 10GB connections for low latency and high bandwidth. Highly secure, dedicated VPN-based Direct Connect is available as a premium service.

Analytical Database Option
MicroStrategy Cloud includes optional database services in three pre-integrated and optimized configurations to meet a range of price and performance requirements. Service options range from a highly cost-effective base service to an extreme high performance enterprise service, which leverages dedicated warehouse appliances and supports high performance analytics on hundreds of terabytes of data.
MicroStrategy has carefully selected and integrated IBM Netezza and ParAccel to deliver the highest levels of analytical database performance and scalability.
Data Integration Services
Optional ETL services include high throughput, parallel data loading capabilities and integrate both on-premises and cloud-based data sources through a variety of out-of-the box connectors.
MicroStrategy Cloud integrates Informatica as its data integration technology. Data integration solutions are available in a cost-effective multitenant service, or as a dedicated single tenant PowerCenter environment.
