SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., May 9, 2001 - MicroStrategy® Incorporated (NASDAQ: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of business intelligence software, today opened Partner Summit 2001, a forum for the industry’s top professionals to discuss best practices for selling analytical solutions and implementing and developing applications. During the two-day conference at the Argent Hotel in San Francisco, Calif., MicroStrategy will announce new initiatives and programs that will benefit partners, including IBM, PeopleSoft, Compaq, Informatica and J.D. “We are very glad to attend this year’s Partner Summit, since MicroStrategy is a valued partner that has always gone to great lengths to work well with Compaq,” said Dennis Phelan, director of the ZLE ISV program at Compaq Computer Corporation. “We are especially excited about MicroStrategy's updated alliance programs that make it easier for Compaq to implement MicroStrategy business intelligence solutions and embed them into solutions such as our Zero Latency Enterprise initiative.”

Summit attendees will see first hand the benefits of MicroStrategy 7.1, the company’s most partner-friendly release to date. “We are extremely impressed with MicroStrategy 7.1 because of its power, sophistication and scalability,” said James Tucker, director of product strategy, Enterprise Warehouse for PeopleSoft. “MicroStrategy offers world-class technology and leading programs to foster and support strong relationships with their partners.”

MicroStrategy’s new initiatives and programs include the following features: higher partner discounts, enhanced partner resources and support, increased joint sales and marketing opportunities, free technical certification for qualifying partners and improved coordination with MicroStrategy sales and consulting.

Bansal, chief operating officer of MicroStrategy Incorporated. “MicroStrategy is committed to helping our growing number of partners succeed in every way possible.”

Attendees will hear keynote addresses from MicroStrategy executives and will choose from technology and business tracks that address their specific interests.
