MicroStrategy Receives Baan Company Certification

BaanCAPPS Certifies MicroStrategy for Baan Company’s Enterprise Decision Manager Solution

VIENNA, VA, October 13, 1998 — MicroStrategy Incorporated (NASDAQ: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of mission-critical decision support systems, announced today its certification from Baan Company’s Certified Application Provider Program (BaanCAPPS) for Baan Company’s Enterprise Decision Manager, the company’s new information warehouse framework introduced today at BaanWorld 98 – Europe.

Baan Company’s Enterprise Decision Manager is an end-to-end business solution for its enterprise resource planning (ERP) customers, providing an integrated framework for users to gain knowledge from their disparate data sources including Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 with OLAP services (code-named Plato). Baan Company tested and certified MicroStrategy for use with Enterprise Decision Manager, citing its ability to augment decision support capability that complements Baan Company’s OLAP Navigator front-end tool. Through active information delivery, MicroStrategy is able to disseminate information via common business devices, including email, fax, pager, mobile phone, Palm Pilots and Windows CE machines.
