VIENNA, VA, November 16, 1998 — MicroStrategy® Incorporated (NASDAQ: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of mission-critical decision support systems, today announced that it is co-sponsoring a four-city seminar series with Concept Information Systems (http://www.conceptinfo.com). The free seminars, scheduled to begin December 8th, will educate attendees on best practices for implementing enterprise resource planning (ERP) and business intelligence solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency. The event is ideal for executives and managers at consumer goods and manufacturing companies evaluating data warehousing and ERP technologies.
The half-day seminar will begin with a presentation focused on the unique challenges that manufacturers face serving customers, maintaining inventory and controlling production costs. Many companies are addressing these issues by implementing ERP and other manufacturing supply chain management transactional systems. The seminar will explore how companies can maximize the value of the information in these systems by integrating them with data warehousing technology. By using business intelligence in conjunction with ERP, manufacturers will be able to answer questions like, "How much revenue do we lose due to unfulfilled orders?" "Are we producing products in areas where there is no demand?" "What is our service level to our top 25 customers?"
Through its development of a sophisticated software and services package that transforms information from ERP systems into a MicroStrategy-based DSS application, Concept helps companies derive insight from data that is buried in ERP and transactional systems. Concept will demonstrate its application and will present case studies on how it has helped firms improve efficiency through the use of MicroStrategy’s products.
"Concept Information Systems and MicroStrategy understand the challenges that manufacturers face in today’s competitive marketplace," said Sanju K. Bansal, chief operating officer at MicroStrategy Incorporated. "Using MicroStrategy’s technology, Concept is one of the first vendors to provide an end-to-end DSS/ERP solution that interfaces with a variety of operational systems. Together, we are leading the way in helping companies extract the full value from their ERP and data warehousing investments."
