KPMG Signs Global Reseller Agreement With MicroStrategy

IncorporatedMicroStrategy's Business Intelligence Platform Selected to Provide Customer Implementations and Develop Repeatable, Industry-Specific Solutions

VIENNA, VA, April 20, 1999 — MicroStrategy® Incorporated (NASDAQ: MSTR), a leading worldwide provider of mission-critical decision support systems, and KPMG LLP, one of the nation’s largest systems integrators, today announced that they have entered into an agreement to provide world-class e-business intelligence solutions to companies worldwide. Under the terms of the agreement, KPMG will join MicroStrategy’s DSS Partners™ program and will become an authorized reseller of MicroStrategy’s award-winning product line, DSS Suite™.

The agreement formalizes a long relationship that has resulted in many customer successes across a wide variety of industries, such as manufacturing, hospitality, telecommunications, finance and consumer packaged goods. The new contract allows KPMG to resell MicroStrategy’s DSS Suite to organizations in need of powerful decision support and e-business intelligence solutions.

In addition, KPMG is incorporating DSS Suite into its cross-industry, end to end solutions for Knowledge Management. With the new agreement in place, KPMG can expand the offerings and utilize its experience to assist clients in acquiring, retaining and growing their customer base.

"KPMG conducted a thorough evaluation of the high-end business intelligence market before it decided to initiate a relationship with MicroStrategy," said Steve Cranford, Partner-in-Charge of data warehousing and enterprise knowledge management at KPMG. "Our customers, consultants and sales force look forward to a long and prosperous collaboration between KPMG and MicroStrategy."

Over one-third of KPMG’s data warehouse consultants have received formalized training on DSS Suite, enabling them to analyze business challenges and develop solutions using MicroStrategy’s intelligence platform. Several consultants are Platinum or Gold Certified partners, which means they have completed an extensive training course at MicroStrategy’s headquarters, including exams and presentations on DSS Suite and complementary data warehouse products.

"KPMG has a well-deserved reputation as one of the leading implementers of business intelligence solutions, and we are pleased they will be integrating our software platform for their global customers, as well as for developing industry-specific repeatable solutions," said Sanju K. Bansal, chief operating officer at MicroStrategy Incorporated. "This relationship should help both companies continue to set the pace for the business intelligence industry, and demonstrates the ease with which organizations can develop solutions on MicroStrategy’s platform."
