MicroStrategy Certified Developer (MCD) Program

The MicroStrategy Certified Developer (MCD) Program validates an individual's knowledge of building a customized MicroStrategy Web/Web Universal application using the MicroStrategy Software Development Kit (SDK). If an individual desires to become certified on how to change the look and feel of the MicroStrategy Web interface, how to customize the MicroStrategy events of the Web API, as well as how to integrate the web application with portals, they can attend the three-day MicroStrategy Certified Developer (MCD) Project after achieving the prerequisite focus area certifications of Certified Web SDK Specialist (CWS) and Certified Web SDK Developer (CWD) status. » View MCD Program Chart

The following table lists the MicroStrategy courses designed to help MCD candidates prepare for the required exams.

Course

Prerequisites

MicroStrategy Web Interface Designer Track 5 Days Considerable comfort with HTML
MicroStrategy Web SDK: Developer Track 5 Days Web Interface Designer Track; strong Java programming skills

If individuals have the prerequisite knowledge and skills to take the exams without any formal classroom instruction, both the Web Specialist Certification exam and the Web Developer Certification exam can be taken during any scheduled Testing Day offered by MicroStrategy to qualify for entry into the MCD three-day Project.

Candidates must attain 75% or higher to pass the MCD Project. If another attempt is necessary, the candidate must attain 85% or higher on subsequent retake MCD Projects. A candidate can return for up to three attempts on the MCD Project within the same 12-month period. If the candidate fails a third attempt, they must wait at least three months before they schedule another retake MCD Project. If any of the two, prerequisite focus area certifications (which are valid for 18 months) expire during this three-month waiting period, candidates must recertify in that particular focus area before they are eligible to register for the MCD Project again. If the candidate fails a fourth attempt, they must again wait three months before they are eligible to register for the MCD Project. This continues so long as they keep failing.
