Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis

Department: Finance
Location: Vienna, US

Basic Function: This position is responsible for creating, analyzing and tracking weekly and quarterly Excel-based rolling forecasts for a given area of responsibility, a portion of which will be international.  This includes taking ownership of and being the subject matter expert on revenue, headcount and all operating expenses.


Job Duties (include but not limited to): 



  • Assist in compiling the weekly worldwide rolling forecast for review by the CEO and his direct reports
  • Assist in developing the quarterly Board of Directors' package, which includes a review of the actual results as well as the forecast for the future quarters
  • Assist with the monthly close process by ensuring that actual results are being recorded as expected and by providing detailed forecast variance analyses for each business
  • Support the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis on various projects

Job Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting or a related discipline and 3 to 6 years of relevant work experience
  • Advanced Excel skills including the use of pivot tables and charts, vlookups, conditional statements, linking, advanced formulas and data queries.  Familiarity with  Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent data management skills, including pulling data extracts, making queries and knowledge on writing reports
  • Significant experience with developing financial and operational models to support planning process and key business initiatives
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.  Must be a self-starter with high levels of motivation who can develop creative ways to approach issues without always having to rely on specific instructions on how to proceed
  • Highly detail-oriented with ability to follow through each task to its completion.  This includes ability to digest large quantities of data in order to determine how certain trends and findings impact the business, and whether assumptions and formulas are working properly in order to ensure that the outcome of an analysis makes sense
  • Proven ability to build and maintain both intra-departmental and cross-functional relationships, including international stakeholders
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously; highly energetic and able to thrive under pressure
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills

• The analyst will need to conduct regular reviews with international finance managers and other stakeholders to understand the business, review actual results and validate forecasting assumptions
• This role will present significant opportunities for visibility and impact in supporting management planning and decision making. As such, it is key that the analyst have proven critical thinking and analytical skills and is intellectually curious to continually ask questions and is willing to “roll up their sleeves” in getting answers
