Product Support Manager

Department: Technical Services
Location: Vienna, US

Basic Function:  Product Support Manager (PSM) role requires well developed technical and customer management skills. PSMs act as product experts who can be depended upon to solve the most difficult technical cases related to MicroStrategy Products. PSMs should also be reliable at resolving critical customer situations.


Job Duties (include but not limited to): 



  • Provide 2nd level support for Technical Support engineers worldwide
  • Work on most critical and complex cases regarding MicroStrategy products
  • Be responsible for training Technical Support engineers worldwide on the newest MicroStrategy products and cutting-edge technologies
  • Author and maintain high-value technical articles in the MicroStrategy Knowledge Base
  • Integrate with the counterparts in appropriate Development and QA groups to advance product quality and support effectiveness  
  • Assist in the execution of the Beta cycle of a given MicroStrategy product

Job Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a technical major (Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science)
  • Technical level familiarity with the MicroStrategy products and/or technical expertise in the Business Intelligence field is a strong plus
  • Windows 2000/2003 Server platform and XP technologies required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2003-2007 (PowerPoint, Excel, Access) required
  • UNIX knowledge, SQL proficiency, Microsoft ADS, LDAP, Network and ODBC technologies are a plus
  • C/C++, Visual C++, Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML/XSL, ASP.Net, JSP, Adobe Flex/Flash Builder, Actionscript, CSS, AJAX, Web Services, VBA technologies are a plus
  • Familiarity with Kerberos, Portal Application Servers, J2EE Application Servers, SiteMinder/Tivoli are a plus
  • Highly motivated with strong technical and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for both technology and customer service
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team       
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Well-organized with effective time management skills
  • Desire to learn new technologies
