Basic Function: This person will join MicroStrategy’s User Interfaces team of Program Managers, UI Designers and Graphic Designers to build the next generation of interactive data applications for mobile devices such as the iPhone/iPad. Explore interface workflows which leverage the latest in data visualization and multi-touch capability. They will push the limits of the latest technology to create new user experiences and empower users to access data in revolutionary ways. Get support from other designers, program managers, programmers, quality engineers, technical writers and many more groups to turn your ideas into a product that will be used by thousands of customers in 13 languages throughout the world.  Lead the charge of creating elegant and functional User Interfaces for interactive data applications for the MicroStrategy platform on mobile devices such as the iPhone/iPad. We are looking for individuals that have a deep appreciation for simple solutions to presenting complex problems and experience creating rich and elegant interactive user experiences for new media

Job Duties (include but not limited to): 

• Rapidly prototype and develop user interface features for our Business Intelligence platform
  
• Rapidly prototype and develop user interface features for our mobile platform (with an emphasis on iPhone/iPad) that takes advantage of Microstrategy’s BI Platform and combines it with the best of the iPhone/iPad feature set
  
• Come up with innovative new user interface designs and experiences to enable easy user interaction with our BI product suite via Web 2.0, Flash and mobile mediums and on the iPhone/iPad feature set.
  
• Build mock ups and prototypes for the user interface portions of new features, dialogs, icons and other visual elements in the product
  
• Research new user interface paradigms put into use by gaming companies, Web 2.0 software companies, popular mobile applications and consumer focused web sites and analyze applicability in our space
  
• Acquire knowledge of the BI domain to come up with creative applications for the mobile medium
  
• Turn requirements into user flows, wireframes and visual mockups to explore new user interface designs.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Sciences or Arts
  
• Solid knowledge of prototyping tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash etc…) as well as workflow tools (Omnigraffle, Visio)
  
• Passion for problem solving. Out of the box thinker who can leverage a wide range of skills to present concise and practical solutions to complex problems.
  
• Experience in Objective C, Flash/ActionScript/Flex, HTML, CSS, Ajax/DHTML – VB knowledge of XAML, SVG etc. desirable
  
• At least 2-3 years of demonstrable experience in user interface design and development
  
• Strong analytical and communication skills. Must be able to learn new technologies and the domain space very quickly and present ideas in a team setting
  
• Must have the eagerness to constantly strive to innovate and the ability to initiate discussions regarding new ideas
  
• Team-oriented individual, positive attitude, energetic, result & delivery oriented, keen interest on quality and intense attention to detail
