Basic Function:  This position is responsible for the successful and efficient deployment of cloud data management solutions which are centered on Business Intelligence technologies.  The Engineer’s primary role will be to build, monitor and manage our database inventory.

Job Duties (include but not limited to):

• Design, configure, implement and manage all aspects of our database environments in medium to large scale Data Center environments around the world
  
• Collaborate and communicate a solid understanding of the database design, engineering and support procedures necessary for optimal system performance
  
• Troubleshoot and resolve data model, database query, authorization, security, recovery / rollback, import / export data, user / system monitoring, ETL, DW, etc. issues
  
• Execute optimization techniques to maximize the efficiency of all database systems
  
• Adhere to industry standards (i.e. SSAE 16, SAS 70, PCI, HIPAA, etc.) and company best practices for service delivery
  
• Assist in the ongoing development and documentation of various systems, policies, procedures and customer deliverables
  
• Develop and design project plans, tasks and timelines and then provide verbal and written status reports as directed
  
• Define, document & implement configuration standards for systems and databases
  
• Perform other technical duties as assigned
  
• Provide on-call support & remote computing needs

Job Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience in building and managing multi-terabyte databases in a medium to large scale Data Center environments
  
• Strong, current experience building and maintaining industry leading data warehouse technologies
  
• Strong database background and certifications with experience in at least three of the following databases:






• PostgresSQL - Professional & Master Certification Desired


• Teradata


• Netezza


• SQL Server


• Oracle Databases


• ParAccel


• Exasol


• Great attention to detail and the ability to use sound judgment to effectively solve problems within the scope of the position
  
• Excellent analytical/problem solving and troubleshooting skills in both structured and unstructured environments
  
• Ability to efficiently handle multiple projects with shifting priorities
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  
• Able to anticipate and mitigate risks as well as define architectural solutions
  
• Able to produce professional documentation and manage small initiatives
