Basic Function:  HCI Research Scientists can expect to be given a great degree of freedom in exploring their ideas and coming up with bold new user interface paradigms.  Researchers will be teamed with Microstrategy Program Managers that have a solid understanding of the Business Intelligence market place and can expect to work collaboratively with a team of engineers that are motivated to take these innovative ideas and translating them into viable components of our product suite.

Job Duties (include but not limited to): 

• As part of a team of researchers, rapidly prototype and develop user interface features for various facets of our business intelligence product suite


• Explore areas of applicability in the Web 2.0 Space, Mobile as well as traditional mediums


• Come up with innovative new user interface designs and experiences to enable new ways to understand and interact with large amounts of data


• Research new user interface paradigms put into use by gaming companies, Web 2.0 software companies and consumer focused web sites and analyze applicability in our space


• Acquire knowledge of BI products and SW development tools & technologies and apply it towards building robust, high performing and easy to use components

Job Requirements:

• 0-3 years of UI Research experience


• Education: Advanced degrees in Computer Science with a focus on data visualization and user interface design


• Strong analytical and communication skills


• Team-oriented individual, positive attitude, energetic, result & delivery oriented, keen interest on quality and intense attention to detail
