Basic Function: The Lead Mobile Admin, as a part of the Mobile Solutions Team, will be responsible for ensuring our multiple MicroStrategy Mobile environments and applications are highly available and optimized for performance. The Lead will coordinate the activities of a small global Mobile Ops team and thus be responsible for development, refinement, and execution of operational processes that support our developers and ensure smooth processing of needs and requests related to Mobile application development lifecycle, including change control, object management, server and application settings management, and establishment of development and deployment best practices that ensure our Mobile environments are reliable and scalable. The Lead will also liaison with MicroStrategy Labs and IS to ensure that software updates are coordinated and executed according to defined parameters. Day-to-day responsibilities will include Ops team coordination, environment status reporting, object migrations, user management, monitoring and tactical response, upgrades and testing, event troubleshooting, and generally performing any operational tasks that ensure all Mobile Solutions environments and Mobile apps are running smoothly and performing well.
Job Duties (include but not limited to):
- Lead Global Mobile Operations team under Mobile Solutions Director
- Use MicroStrategy tools such as Object Manager, Integrity Manager, and Enterprise Manager to support the Mobile Application development cycles and related MicroStrategy environments
- Develop and enhance processes that support cross-divisional teams building a Mobile Solutions library and portfolio of demos and applications with properly functioning environments.
- Be an active contributor in the Mobile community at MicroStrategy by providing feedback, ideas, and support that will help to improve the platform
- Be up to date on industry trends and administration protocols related to Mobile applications and leverage those trends and ideas to improve delivery of Mobile Intelligence Solutions.
- Develop and publish Mobile administration and operations best practices – establish checks and balances to ensure protocols are being followed and are efficient
- Monitor and report on the stability of the MicroStrategy environment.
- Process change requests according to defined change control methods
- Work with the Global Mobile Ops team and MicroStrategy Labs to achieve maximum application availability and to properly maintain MicroStrategy software including upgrade releases and patches.
- Troubleshoot problems in the environment, resolve issues, and communicate key problems and resolutions with Mobile Solution Team Members, QE, Support, and management.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science preferred.
- 6+ years technical experience
- 4+ years experience administration of MicroStrategy Business Intelligence platforms required
- 2+ years experience with Business Intelligence platforms required
- Demonstrated understanding of Application Development Lifecycle methodology
- Team and project leadership experience required
- Ability to document processes and continuously strive to improve them
- Knowledge of SQL Server, Windows Server, and Tomcat required
- SQL knowledge required
- Informatica experience preferred
- Sharepoint experience preferred
- Possess analytical, problem solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Team-oriented individual, positive attitude, energetic, result & delivery oriented, keen interest on quality and intense attention to detail.
- Be able to work autonomously and multi-task without a loss of quality
- Be able to rapidly respond to issues professionally and methodically, particularly while under pressure
- Travel less than 25% required
