Basic Function:  The Associate Systems Engineer will manage the systems and daily data center operations including the production and development and monitoring the environment.

Job Duties (include but not limited to): 

• Manage production/development datacenter with up to 20 racks of servers, ranging from Windows to major Unix platforms


• Monitor physical datacenter environment and ensure its operation


• Manage and build servers to support needs of a large IT company


• Manage hardware inventory and tracking system 


• Conduct requirement analysis, perform hardware/software evaluations and make recommendations


• Assist education programs hosted by MicroStrategy


• Create and maintain documentation required to support the IT infrastructure


• Troubleshoot problems or issues with software and hardware in a systems engineer atmosphere


• Revise and improve tape backup process and infrastructure

Job Requirements:

• Knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 2003 and 2008 Operating System


• Knowledge of Microsoft product line, AD structure, SMS, SCCM, MOM, WSUS


• Good understanding of Dell hardware configuration and its server line.


• Basic understanding of database.


• OS deployment and image management.


• General networking protocols (TCP/IP, WINS, DNS)


• Knowledge of VMware ESX server is a plus


• Knowledge of SAN is a plus


• College education in a related field


• Multiple forests and domains


• Remote sites with Windows 2003 and Windows 2008 domain controllers


• Active Directory and Exchange architectural integration


• Corporate experience with environments greater than 50 W2k/W2k3 servers and greater than 1000 client machines


• User account creation/administration


• Server backup and data/systems recovery/restores


• Configure, monitor, and maintain Dell PowerEdge Intel (W2k/2003) Servers


• Migrations to Windows 2008 (Server, Exchange, Desktop, etc)


• Assist with antigen, spam filtering and other infrastructure tools


• Keep the data center and surrounding work areas neat, clean, and safe


• Storage Area Network maintenance and monitoring


• Experience in a hands-on systems engineering role


• Last two positions or more in a related role.


• ADSI knowledge/experience very helpful.


• Organized, detail-oriented, and strong self-discipline.


• Sharp, analytical thinker – enjoys solving problems, uses both logic and innovation.


• College education in a related field preferred.


• Professional Certifications (or equivalent training/experience) preferred (Windows 2000/2003 MCSE, Active Directory Services, Deployments, etc.).
